About the Illustrators
Ali DeLambo is a 7th grader at Buist Academy in Charleston. Ali, 13, is a competitive swimmer. She lives in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and has been an artist “since birth.”
Austin Lane, a Socastee High School senior from Myrtle Beach, SC, enjoys drawing cartoons, reading the Bible and spending time with the Socastee Baptist Church youth group. Austin hopes that his artwork makes people smile and brings glory to God. (photo not available)
Charlie Vaughan is from Caracas, Venezuela, but lives in Greenville, SC, with his wonderful wife, Melanie, and two beautiful daughters, Briana and Selena. He has always enjoyed art and anything creative.
Emily Lyles received her BA in Studio Art from the College of Charleston and is currently in the graduate art program at the University of South Carolina. She plans to pursue a career in writing and illustrating young adult novels. Emily is a native of Summerville, SC.
Heather Wright Harris, an active member of Crooked Creek Art League, Chapin, SC, has studied art during her retirement from a nursing career. She enjoys paper arts, silhouettes and colored pencil portraits. Heather lives in Prosperity, SC.
Joshua Mays attends Socastee High School. He is 16 and was born in Danville, VA, but now resides in Surfside Beach, SC.
Kate Parris is 17 and a Socastee High School senior from Surfside Beach, SC. She hopes to work as an artist in Paris or as a glassblower in the NC mountains.
Krystina Michalos resides in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is 13, likes to draw, write, read and create all different kinds of things. Krystina has a “crazy and fun personality” as well as big dreams.
Lori Wolfe, a California native, lives in Lexington, SC. Dr. Wolfe has degrees in English literature and in osteopathic medicine. She has always liked to draw, a passion she and her three sons share.
Luke Horowitz, of Conway, SC, works with pencil and airbrush as a caricature artist during the summer. Luke uses a variety of mediums in personal artwork and in school; favorites are acrylic paint and special effects makeup.
Matthew Price is a resident of Aynor, SC, and is completing his final year at USC. He graduates with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Matthew has enjoyed drawing his whole life.
McKenzie Miller is laid back but says her “priorities are set in stone.” McKenzie tries not to let little things bother her, except for the details in her art. She is an 8th grader at E. L. Wright Middle School in Columbia, SC. (photo not available)
Nick Bartholf, originally from Lawton, OK, lives in Myrtle Beach, SC. A Socastee High graduate, Nick’s favorite style is pen ink. He would like to study graphic arts and be able to make a living with his art.
Owen Turner is from Mt. Pleasant, SC. At an early age, Owen showed great aptitude and affinity for visual art. He is a 6th grader at Charleston School of the Arts. (photo not available)
Rachel Horton loves to read and draw and hopes to be a professional writer and illustrator. She lives in West Columbia, SC, and is a 7th grader at Carolina Springs Middle School.
Rozlyn Stanley enjoys fall days filled with coffee and lots of reading. She is an artist, writer and poet based in Lexington, SC. Rozlyn holds a BA in Theatre from North Greenville University and works as a professional actor in the southeast.
Savannah Cash resides in Charleston, SC. A 15-year-old junior at Porter-Gaud School, Savannah is an accomplished violinist who enjoys drawing in her spare time. She is “horrible at sports.”
Susan Brush is a professional artist in Columbia, SC. Over a ten-year period, she illustrated a monthly Episcopal publication, a yearly catalog and monthly newsletters for a toy store, and a weekly magazine insert for The State newspaper. (photo not available)
